2014 Cabernet Franc
Seamless, delicate and very easy to drink
Seamless, delicate and very easy to drink. Less oaky and not as heavy as its “Reserve” sibling. Aromas of lively red fruit, mango and crushed stones. Flavors of freshly-picked raspberries and dried fig. Medium-bodied with supple tannins with no hard edges.
2014 was an excellent vintage on Long Island. After the cold winter, bud break came late. June and July were very wet, but the dry prevailed consistently through to harvest. Cool nights alternating with warm days enhanced the color, and allowed for the slow, steady ripening of a bounty of high quality fruit.
