2014 Estate Merlot
Sample flavors of fresh fruit, oak, and chocolate
Aromas of ripe red fruit, fresh oak and chocolate. Flavors of raspberry, blueberry, cedar and fresh herbs. Medium-bodied and supple with rich tannins.
2014 was an excellent vintage on Long Island. After the cold winter, bud break came late. June and July were very wet, but the dry prevailed consistently through to harvest. Cool nights alternating with warm days enhanced the color, and allowed for the slow, steady ripening of a bounty of high quality fruit.
