2017 Orient Chardonnany

2017 Orient Chardonnay

Savor on aromas of green apple & pear

Stainless steel fermented. No. Oak. Ever. Aromas of red apple and pear. Flavors of honeydew melon, and golden kiwi. Medium-bodied, pure, crisp, clean and tart.

2017 was another great vintage for the North Fork. Although marginally cooler temperatures prevailed in May and again in August and early September. October, was unusually warm and spectacular - perfect for harvesting! Rainfall was steady but manageable throughout the summer and there was a nice period of dry weather in the middle of the summer. As always, obsessive management and disease control in the vineyard were important in 2017 as ripening was (in some varietals) almost two weeks later than usual. But flavors developed beautifully with strong Brix and moderate acids. The 2017 harvest produced clean and balanced fruit with outstanding flavors.
